How to measure for a penis sleeve: internal length and width
October 25, 2026
A custom penis sleeve stays in place because it fits snugly, without straps. That only works if your measurements are right. The good news: it takes five minutes and a tape measure. This guide shows you exactly how to measure, how to turn your numbers into the right size, and which mistakes to avoid.
What you need
- A flexible tape measure (a sewing tape works well). No tape? Use a piece of string and a ruler.
- A few quiet minutes. Measure while fully erect, standing up.
- Something to write your numbers down.
Tip: measure two or three times, ideally on different days, and use the average. Erections vary a little, and an average gives you a more reliable fit.
Step 1: Measure your internal length
Your internal length is the part of your penis the sleeve will cover.
- Get fully erect and stand up straight.
- Place the tape on the top side of your penis, where it meets your body. Don’t measure from underneath, and don’t start at your balls.
- Don’t press the tape into your fat pad, skin or bone. Measure only the part that sticks out naturally.
- Measure to the tip, or to the point you want the sleeve to cover.
Our lengths come in 6 mm (¼ in) steps. If you’re between two sizes, choose the nearest option. Example: you measure 13.1 cm, so you choose 13.3 cm (5.25 in).
Step 2: Measure your girth
For the width, you measure your circumference (girth), not your diameter.
- While fully erect, wrap the flexible tape around the thickest part of your shaft.
- Note where the tape meets. Don’t pull it tight.
- Measure a few more spots along the shaft and take the average.
Step 3: Find your internal width
The inside of the sleeve should be a little smaller than you are. Silicone stretches, so a slightly smaller opening gives a snug, suction-like fit that holds the sleeve in place. Use your average girth to choose your internal width:
| Your erect girth | Internal width to choose |
|---|---|
| 7.6 – 10.2 cm (3.0 – 4.0 in) | 2.3 cm (0.9 in) |
| 10.2 – 11.4 cm (4.0 – 4.5 in) | 2.5 cm (1.0 in) |
| 11.4 – 12.7 cm (4.5 – 5.0 in) | 2.9 cm (1.125 in) |
| 12.7 – 15.2 cm (5.0 – 6.0 in) | 3.2 cm (1.25 in) |
| 15.2 cm (6.0 in) or more | Contact us for a custom fit |
Example: your average girth is 12 cm, so you choose an internal width of 2.9 cm (1.125 in).
Step 4: Choose your sleeve
Your internal length is your length. The outer length is the size of the finished sleeve, so the difference between the two is the extra length the sleeve adds. On every sleeve page you’ll find the internal lengths and widths that model offers. Pick yours, and the drawing on the page updates to scale, so you can see how your sleeve will look.
Want a shorter sleeve? Add Shorten Sleeve on the product page. Once you’ve chosen your internal length, it only shows the amounts that work for you, together with the new outer length.
Common mistakes
- Measuring when not fully erect. Your numbers will come out too small.
- Measuring from underneath or from the balls. This adds length the sleeve can’t use.
- Pressing into the fat pad. This also adds length that isn’t really there.
- Using your girth as the internal width. The width chart turns girth into the right, slightly smaller internal width for you.
- Pulling the tape tight around your shaft. Let it rest on your skin.
- Measuring only once. An average of a few measurements is more reliable.
Frequently asked questions
Should I measure while flaccid?
No. Always measure while fully erect. That’s the size the sleeve needs to fit.
Can I choose a slightly larger width, to be safe?
We don’t recommend it. A sleeve that is too wide can slip. The snug fit is what holds it in place, which is why the inside is meant to be a little smaller than you are.
My measurement is right on the border between two widths. What now?
Send us your measurements and we’ll help you choose. We’d rather answer a question before you order than make a sleeve that doesn’t fit.
Can I return a sleeve if it doesn’t fit?
Every sleeve is made to your measurements, so returns and exchanges aren’t possible unless there’s a clear defect. That’s why it’s worth taking a few extra minutes to measure carefully. Our sizing guide helps you choose the best possible fit, but it’s a guide, not a guarantee: bodies and preferences vary.
